Shelli is a mixed media artist, knitter, and maker living in Tulsa, Oklahoma. As a poor child with financial constraints, she found freedom and empowerment in the riot grrl scene. Recycled materials were initially the sign of deprivation and her beloved community. Today she is still trying to mesh her many passions the same. Her themes often explore complex kinship through biographical work.
After various stints in art school including studying under Jerry Poppenhouse, she began a former life as an award winning photographer. Ultimately, she gave up her craft for gigs in corporate America where she found the confidence of income. Today she makes to reconcile a difficult past, alongside the love of her life, Sadie, her feisty rescue aged 10.
